The Future of Elemental Elixirs

Hello everyone,

First of all I want to say thankyou to everyone who has downloaded and played Elemental Elixirs, particularly those who have left feedback! I uploaded the demo without much fanfare and wasn’t expecting such a response, even less such positivity.

For a bit of background about Elemental Elixirs. I started development around March of 2019, my initial goal was to create a VR game (having just bought my first headset a few weeks earlier) which I would use to demonstrate and put into practice some of my skills I’ve learnt over the past year or so using Unity. My deadline was AVCon 2019, a local anime and videogames convention, which is held here in Adelaide Australia, who host a bunch of local indie games each year.

The initial demo that you’ve all played was created for this convention.

During the convention weekend, I had many people asking me if the game was available to download or purchase someplace. I hadn’t expected such a response from the players, so uploading here on itch.io was in response to their request.

I originally hadn’t planned on continuing development on Elemental Elixirs, despite having so much more I wanted to add to the game. However the overwhelmingly positive feedback has motivated me to reassess my decision, and now I plan to continue working on the game.

For me personally, this is a big commitment. I am a solo developer at the moment, everything you see in game was created by me from programming to models, and it was all done during my spare time. I would love to be able to work on Elemental Elixirs full time, however I don’t believe it’s currently at a state where I could possibly charge anyone for it, therefore I have to work a day job.

In a few moments I will post a development roadmap giving you all a rough outline of how I plan on continuing Elemental Elixirs into a full game and beyond.

Thankyou,

Liam
